August, 2016vapa.jpg

Greetings Parents and  Families! We are looking forward to an exciting new year with your child in Visual and Performing Arts, also
known as "VAPA"! We are thrilled to be embarking on our third full year of the K-5 VAPA program at  all of our TVUSD elementary schools. Students attend VAPA with their class once a week where they learn about the various arts disciplines and are immersed in a creative and engaging environment.Throughout the year, students experience Theater, Music, Dance, and Visual Arts in rotations of
8-10 weeks.

Our goal is to provide your child with comprehensive arts education, as well as foster 21st Century  skills. The arts ignite creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. We are  excited to continue building upon the skills we've introduced over the past two and a half years.  All lessons are based on the current California VAPA Content Standards and National Core Arts  Standards. We invite you to visit the VAPA website at: http://vapak5tvusd ,weebly.com There you  will find more information about our program, learn more about the specialists and see The Week At A Glance which provides a brief overview of what your child will be learning during the week.
The first week of VAPA instruction will include an emphasis on establishing an environment of  mutual respect where individual creativity is affirmed and encouraged by everyone. We  hope you  will visit  the  VAPA website often to see all that your  child  is learning !  We are excited to  teach your  child(ren) and  hope that  their V.A.P.A.  experience sparks  a  lifelong appreciation  of  the arts!
